Who We Support

Nest (n.)

A place of rest, retreat, or shelter.

The world can feel heavy. We all have moments of frustration, patterns we’re not proud of, and moments where we feel entirely stuck. At The Nest, we believe that many of our struggles (and joys) centre around the quality of our relationships- with others and with ourselves. Which is why our therapists work relationally to meet you where you’re at and support you to heal, repair, and deepen relationships with those who matter most.

If you’re seeking clarity, connection, or healing, this is a place you can settle in and begin.

Find The Nest at 1619 Townsite Road, Nanaimo. Virtual appointments are available for clients across British Columbia.

Our team of Clinical Counsellors work to offer care that feels human, supportive, and effective. Each counsellor brings their own approach and experience, while sharing a commitment to connection, reflection, and relational wellbeing. Click on a counsellor’s name to learn more.

Relationships, Dating & Intimacy

Relationships are some of the most meaningful - and most challenging - parts of being human. Whether you're working through dating & breakups, infidelity, or ongoing relationship issues, or navigating something as significant as separation & divorce or rebuilding sex & intimacy with your partner - this is a space where those conversations are welcome, held with care, and free from judgment.

Parenting, Family & Intergenerational Dynamics

Family is complicated - and the patterns we grow up with don't always serve us as adults. We support people through coparenting challenges, family conflict, and multigenerational issues that can run quietly for years. We also walk alongside parents experiencing postpartum depression & anxiety, and families finding their way through difficulties around school attendance.

Mental Health & Addiction

You don't have to be in crisis to ask for support - and you don't have to keep managing on your own. We work with people navigating addiction, anxiety & stress, depression, OCD, perfectionism, personality disorders, and trauma. Whatever you're carrying right now, there's room for it here and someone ready to sit with you in it.

The other woman is standing nearby, wearing a gray sweater, black pants, and white sneakers, with her hair down. There is a small wooden side table with a mug and a decorative item on it.

Identity, Life Transitions & Self-Worth

Some of the hardest moments in life are the ones that ask you to figure out who you are on the other side. We support people moving through grief & loss, life transitions, and the quiet but real work of rebuilding self-esteem. We also offer Cantonese & Mandarin counselling for clients who want to do this work in their first language.
